1970 Ginetta G15

The Ginetta G15 was a 2-seater sports kit car manufactured by the Ginetta company between 1967 to 1973. The Ginetta G15 was a popular car selling more than 800 units.

The G15 is roughly 4 feet 9 inches wide and 12 feet long. It's body was made of fibreglass and due to the position of the engine, it had a low centre of gravity giving it perfect handling. It had a top speed of 94 mph and is the best selling Imp based kit car ever.

The Ginetta G15 was based on the Hillman Imp running gear and was available with the following engines:

  • 875cc Imp Sport
  • 998cc Rallye Imp (produced 15 more horsepower than the 875cc engine)
  • Volkswagen Beetle 1600cc engine (Ginetta G15 Super S)

The G15 was available over 5 series which all had rear-wheel drive. They cost between £845 and £2500 depending on engine size and optional extras.
